Caerphilly Castle

Situated in the centre of Caerphilly town is the magnificent Caerphilly Castle.

Caerphilly Castle is the second largest castle in Britain. It not only has a magnificent moat and an impressive fourteenth-century great hall, but it is also fully equipped with modern catering facilities. The Great Hall is available for both a civil ceremony and a reception and/or evening event.

The function can take place either during the afternoon or in the afternoon and the evening. The ceremony can take place only between 12 noon and 6pm.

The Great Hall holds a maximum of 200 people for any function. For a formal seated function, a maximum of 150 is recommended.

Castell Coch

The marquess of Bute’s Gothic creation at Castell Coch, with its colourful interior and beautiful woodland setting, is ideal for intimate ceremonies. Ceremonies are held in the Drawing Room which holds a maximum of 30 people at any time. Castell Coch is available for a civil ceremony only. There are no facilities for a function.

The maximum number of guests must include the two registrars, the bride and groom, the photographer and any musicians present. One booking only per day is accepted at the castle.

A maximum of 90 minutes is allowed for each ceremony. This comprises 30 minutes for the preparation of the room, 30 minutes for the ceremony, and 30 minutes for wedding photography in the courtyard and grounds of the castle.
